My intention is to spread joy through hooping and sacred sounds. I teach and perform hoop dance, play Paiste planetary gongs, tuning forks and crystal singing bowls, and also work with other vibrational healing techniques including crystal healing and color therapy. I teach regular classes, facilitate workshops, and hold special events and retreats. I absolutely love everything that I do and believe strongly in the healing power of movement and sound and know that they can assist one in experiencing more joy, happiness, and peace on a regular basis. The mysterious sounds of the gong immediately take you into a deep meditative state where healing and transformation occurs, the playfulness of a hoop class connects you with your child self and the pure joy we felt as children can be experienced once again. A mesmerizing hoop performance (especially with fire!) can transport you to another dimension and shift your consciousness.
I took my first hoop dance class from Rayna McInturf, founder of Hoopnotica, in 2005. I was immediately hooked and practiced every single day for hours. In 2006, when the company Hoopnotica was formed, I became one of their first hoopdance teachers and moved on to become a Hoopnotica Master Level teacher and trainer. I was also trained to be a teacher trainer and worked closely with Hoopnotica until late 2009. I began holding my own classes in 2008 and formed my company, Dancing Spiral, in 2009. I absolutely love to perform and develop creative hoop classes combining healing movement and sacred sounds and I plan to hold my first hooping and healing retreat in 2010.
My path in healing and sound therapy began when I took my first Kundalini Yoga class at Golden Bridge Yoga in Hollywood in early 2000. The sound of the gong drew me in and I started going to class just to hear it. After discovering yoga, I then moved on to study bodywork/massage, acupuncture, Qi gong, bioenergetic healing, egyptian mysteries, shamanism, energy healing, sound therapy and other vibrational healing techniques. I have studied with many amazing teachers and bring elements of all of my training into my workshops and healing sessions.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about Dancing Spiral. If you have questions about anything that I do, please do not hesitate to contact me. Have a wonderful day!
